英文摘要 | This study aimed to explore alterations in soil erosion resistance following the abandonment of rocky desertification farmlands in karst regions. The objective was to provide scientific insights to support soil and water conservation efforts and the restoration of fragile ecosystems in the area. The spatiotemporal interbanding method was used to analyze soil samples collected before and after the abandonment of rocky desertification farmland. Fourteen physical and chemical indicators were selected for evaluation, employing principal component analysis to assess the impact of varying abandonment periods (5a, 10a, and 15a) and levels of rocky desertification (no rocky desertification, NR; potential rocky desertification, PR; light rocky desertification, LR; and moderate rocky desertification, MR) on the changes in soil erosion resistance. Notable improvements were observed in the physical and chemical properties of the soil after the abandonment of rocky desertification farmland. These improvements were modest at 5a and significant at 10a and 15a. The soil erosion resistance index (SRI) for abandoned farmland exceeded that of cultivated land, with substantial increases observed at 10a (3.360) and 15a (2.706) compared with 5a (-1.331) and cultivated land (-4.793). Overall, the performance trend was 10a/15a > 5a > cultivated land. Among both rocky desertified cultivated land and abandoned farmland, NR exhibited the lowest SRI. However, it was noteworthy that the SRI in abandoned farmland, ranked from highest to lowest, was MR (5.955) > LR (1.896) > PR (1.338) > NR(1.251). The longer the abandonment time, the more obvious the physical and chemical properties of the soil improve, and the higher the soil erosion resistance. In the early stage of natural recovery (5 similar to 15a), the soil erosion resistance of cultivated land with higher levels of rocky desertification may recover faster. |
