英文摘要 | The aim of the study is to reduce the risks of the spread of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedinis (bayoud) and palm grove fires caused by the accumulation of date palm by-products. To this end, we conducted interviews with producers in oases areas and their extensions, focusing on date palm maintenance, management of residues, problems caused by their accumulation, and ways of ensuring the sustainability of palm grove cleaning operations. We also evaluated the weight of different types of residues and used data on fires. The study showed that the amount of manure applied to date palm is low, and that the accumulation of by-products leads to the spread of bayoud disease, the proliferation of pests (white mealy bug), congestion and the outbreak of fires. It also showed that a palm produces every year 0.62 kg of fibrillium, 15 dry palms, 10 stalks and 7 petioles, weighing respectively 0.91 kg/palm, 0.39 kg/stalk and 0.43 kg/petiole, giving an average of 21.2 kg/year of residues per palm tree. The potential biomass produced by date palm cultivation in Tafilalet is therefore 52 400 tons/year, of which nearly 62% is left on the ground, outside the plots or burnt. The interviews showed that the valorization of this regular biomass flow would be highly beneficial for the oasis population and the palm-growing sector. Valorization projects involving producers are likely to have a knock-on effect on the pruning of palm trees and the cleaning of palm groves. They will also help to reduce the spread of bayoud and the frequency of fires, thereby contributing to the sustainability of oases. |
