英文摘要 | This study focuses on the hydrogeological conditions and the hydrodynamic process controlling the sandy Miocene aquifer system in the Sbeitla basin, West-Central Tunisia. To obtain baseline information about this aquifer system, geophysical, piezometric and physicochemical data together with statistical studies were combined. The seismic sections enabled the subsurface geometry of the basin to be delimited. The geoelectrical investigation highlighted two aquifer units within the Miocene deposits; the middle Miocene sands with an average resistivity of 40 ohm.m profiled in various depths ranging from 40 to 180 m, and the lower Miocene sandstones (locally clayey sand) with 60-90 ohm.m resistivities and 70-160 m thickness. The piezometric maps show that the general flow direction is from the northwest towards the southeast. The variations in depth and in thickness and the groundwater flow are both tectonically controlled, the faults system configured an uplifted block acting as hydraulic sill (Sbeitla sill) adjacent to an eastern subsiding block (Sbeitla corridor) considered as preferred pathway for groundwater flow. The geochemical analysis shows that both aquifers are characterized by a Ca-Mg-Cl-SO4 facies and the salinization process related to evaporitic minerals dissolution. The multivariate statistical techniques highlighted three groundwater groups characterized by moderate natural mineralization with a limited anthropogenic influence, moderate natural mineralization with the influence of anthropogenic and groundwater with a high level of mineralization. A conceptual model has been established in order to better define the structural characteristics of the basin and their influence on the hydrodynamic behavior of the aquifer system of Sbeitla. |
