英文摘要 | Oasis agroecosystems in drylands play a crucial role in maintaining agriculture productivity, and they are sensitive to nighttime warming caused by climate change. However, the effects of nighttime warming on oasis agroecosystems have rarely been studied in hyper-arid regions. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of nighttime warming on resource capture, growth, aboveground biomass, and grain yield of maize (Zea mays L.) planted under oasis farmlands. We conducted 2-year experiments with two treatments (nighttime warming and CK/ambient control) under oasis farmlands. Warming experiments with three replicates were performed at each plot using a nighttime warming facility in 2015 and 2016. The average daily canopy temperature and average daily soil temperature were 0.96celcius and 0.45celcius higher in the warmed plots than those of the CK in both years, respectively. The increase in nighttime temperature advanced the growth of maize and shortened growing period by a week. Nighttime warming increased leaf area index (LAI) in the vegetative stage but decreased it in the reproductive stage. The utilization of heat resources by maize was enhanced, resulting in significantly higher levels of aboveground biomass (p < 0.05). However, no significant difference (p > 0.05) in grain yield was found between two treatments. Nighttime warming (less than 1.0 celcius) advanced the growth of maize and shortened its growing period, and significantly enhanced aboveground biomass and carbon sink, but could not cause significant impact in grain yield in maize under irrigation in hyper-arid regions. |
