英文摘要	Since its endorsement at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification's Conference of Parties in 2015, the concept of land degradation neutrality (LDN) has been used to frame countries' commitments to land restoration for sustainable socioeconomic and environmental benefits. However, land tenure, its critical enabler, remains either peripheral or nonexistent at the practical level in the LDN agenda. This calls for an approach to strengthen the link between land tenure and land restoration. This article conceptualises the tenure-restoration nexus and illustrates how the nexus can be enhanced to specifically support land restoration, and the LDN agenda, in general. Overall, the article argues that strengthening the tenure-restoration nexus is critical in catalysing efforts of direct land users to protect, sustainably manage and restore natural and modified ecosystems that underpin their livelihoods. The article presents case studies to demonstrate the contribution of the tenure-restoration nexus to the sustainability debate of degraded lands globally within the LDN agenda.
