| 英文摘要 | Towards the end of the 19th century, Argentina took a leading role as a supplier of agricultural and livestock products for the international market. The arid and semiarid zones in the northwest of the country, central during the colonial period, were relegated from this process. The ruling elites and technicians saw rivers as elements that would put those regions on the path of progress. The main goal of our research is analyze how the elites of the province of Cordoba interpreted the problem of geographic disparity, and the role they gave to rivers in the modernization project; focusing specifically on the case of the Los Sauces river, in the Traslasierra valley. Likewise, through the documentary analysis of primary sources -administrative, legislative, scientific and from the press-we will analyze which engineering interventions reflected the hydraulic mission of the State and their biophysical and social consequences. |
