英文摘要 | The current research aims to evaluate sustainable development through building simulation models of poverty, environmental hazards, urbanism, health care, education, agriculture, and tourism. Furthermore, this paper presents future scenarios for sustainable development in the Al-Ahsa governorate to allow it to benefit from the environment and convert into resources in a manner that ensures sustainability. This study is performed utilizing satellite images and numerous digital layers of geographic data systems. The results indicate that the Al-Ahsa governorate is strategically located as a result of its closeness to the Arabian Gulf and that a large proportion of the land area there is desert. Thus, this place constitutes a gateway to sustainable development in all forms. Moreover, the findings show that there are three planning alternatives for sustainable development: first, urban densification in the central metropolitan area; second, spreading over the axes of regional development; and last, spreading in a concentrated way-developing urban cities, making the Al-Ahsa governorate a multi-nucleus entity. |
