英文摘要The book Devastation. Civilized violence against the Indians of the plains of Plata and South of Chile (XVI -XIX centuries) has been compiled by the historians Sebastian L. Alioto, Juan F. Jimenez and Daniel Villar. It deals with the various forms of violence used by the Hispanic Creoles of the South American cone against indigenous populations, from the beginning of Spanish domination until the end of the nineteenth century, when the total occupation of the territory was achieved by means of the well-known Conquest of the Desert in Argentina (Rio de la Plata) and the Pacification of the Araucania in Chile.
