| 英文摘要 | Over four years ago, twenty-nine years after the start of the works, the Museum of Natural History of Milan completed the exhibition of the exotic dioramas I designed in the 1980s and whose first realizations were in 1988 on the 150th anniversary of the Museum's foundation. Hence, this project has a long history and was carried out thanks to the implementation of a complex organization that saw the interaction between the Museum's scientific staff, technical staff and numerous external collaborators. The overall exhibition consists of large dioramas illustrating grasslands, savannas, deserts, tropical and temperate forests, subpolar environments, oceanic islands and mountain environments front all over the world. Many museologists disagree with the use of dioramas, as they consider this form of communication archaic, static and now obsolete. Since I do not wish to influence the readers, I will leave them the freedom to take a side for or against dioramas after having read the article and possibly after a visit to the Museum in Milan. |
