英文摘要	Nowadays, the exploitation of the oil fields and gas wells has transformed the Algerian Sahara into a special economic zone. Geologic evolution of the Algerian Desert is not limited to economic benefits, this vast desert contains various unexploited ecosystems. In other words, desert ecosystems are controlled by several extreme environmental conditions, in which abiotic stresses play an important role in the modification of the metabolism and the selction of the flora. The impacts of environmental stresses observed in several desert areas of the world have encouraged microbiological researches in some regions of the Algerian Sahara. Indeed, recent researches revealed that significant microbial diversity is dominated by actinobacterial strains. Morever, it has been proved that new extremophiles taxa that have recently been discovered are capable of producing and synthesizing new secondary metabolites. Furthermore, some researchers have isolated strains with bioremediation benefits, while other isolates are considered important for agricultural development. Unfortunately, most of the studies established in this vast desert are still limited. For that reason, more in-depth researches are recommended in order to uncover rare actinobacteria producing new secondary metabolites. The first part of the current review aims to summarize the latest studies on the diversity of rare actinobacteria in the Algerian Sahara and its secondary metabolites. The second part focuses on the impact of abiotic stresses and adaptation mechanism of actinobacteria in desert environments. Eventually, the review describes some unexploited sites in the Algerian Sahara which may be considered as a new platform for future researches.
