Geochemistry and Landsat satellite data processing of dolomite mineral deposits in a semi-arid region of Cuddapah in southern India using geospatial technology

英文摘要The main aim of the present study is to investigatethegeochemical characteristics of dolomites and dolomite enriched mineralised zones andtheir source identification by understanding lithological and geomorphological units. The geological and geomorphological maps were prepared with help of Landsat 8 OLI satellite data. Thematic maps were created for three revenuemandalsnamely Lingala, Pulivendla and Pendlimarri of YSR Kadapa District, A.P, India. Subsequently, geochemical analys wasperformed on the mineralised zones to know the type and grade of the dolomite. Based on the geochemical investigation, the overall grade of dolomite with respect to MgO % in the study area is 20 to 29%, which is commercially considered as high grade and is useful for glass industry, except for some occurrences in villages like K.Velavavaripalle (20.64% MgO), Chinnakudala (20.60% MgO), Velidandla (19% MgO), Nandimandalam (18.80% MgO), which may be useful for steel industry.
