英文摘要Pinus sylvestris var. Mongolica and Populus bolleana Lauche are important, fast growing and drought resistant afforestation tree species that has been extensively used for grassland restoration and desertification combating in semi-arid region of Mu Us Sandy land, China. The primary objective for this paper was to investigate the daily and seasonal variations of nocturnal sap flow and its relationship to environmental factors. The methods of thermal diffusion and stem heat balance were applied and soil volumetric moisture content and the environmental factors like air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and precipitation were simultaneously measured at a meteorological station on site. Results indicated during the study period of May to October, the year of 2011, the nocturnal sap flow of two species were substantial, and daily variation of nocturnal sap flow fluctuation were transitionally changing in the growing season, adapting to the change of environment. Redundancy and Kendall's tau analysis indicated air temperature and vapour pressure deficit had great influence on nocturnal sap flow of Pinus sylvestris var. Mongolica, while there was a highly linear relationship between nocturnal sap flow rate to daily reference evapotranspiration and soil volumetric moisture content in Populus bolleana Lauche woodland, moreover, soil layer of 0.1-0.5 m contributed to most of the plant transpiration at this layer. Thus, the application of Pinus sylvestris var. Mongolica and Populus bolleana Lauche to the afforestation of the Mu Us Sandy land were limited to air temperature, vapour pressure deficit and soil moisture factors.
