英文摘要The notion of desert often implies the absence of life. However, these places in which nothing seems to survive have been inhabited for millennia by ancestral peoples who have managed to cultivate vegetation in these extreme conditions. This installation for the Sharjah Triennial in 2019 reclaims those traditions, showing that vegetation can even grow in the absence of water, dismissing the colonial fear of desert territories.
