英文摘要 | This research deals with the evaluation of soil water erosion in an arid zone of the Tacna region in southern Peru, taking the Quebrada del Diablo as a case study. The USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) and RUSLE (Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation) models were used in connection with geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing techniques. The R, K, LS, C and P factors of the models were calculated on the basis of local rainfall information registered in three stations, and data from remote sensors integrated through the GIS, thus obtaining a simple and effective tool to determine maps, areas and rates of erosion. The results indicate that the maximum rate of water erosion, due to the extraordinary precipitation that occurred in 2020, calculated using both models varies from 0 to 50 t/ha-year, a variation considered in the low, light and moderate range. The USLE and RUSLE models show potential erosion less than 10 t/ha-year for 71,81% and 45,27% of the study area, respectively; for erosion rates greater than 10 t/ha-year, the calculated areas with the RUSLE model exceed those estimated with the USLE model. |
