英文摘要	Unpiloted Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), or drones as they are often called, are revolutionizing archaeology in terms of the scale and precision of landscape mapping (Verhoeven 2009; Smith et al. 2014; Hill 2014). Combined with advances in computer vision software (Verhoeven et al. 2012), drones can record the world at significantly higher levels of detail than was previously possible from terrestrial, aerial, or satellite mapping. Drone-based survey can be particularly fruitful in the mapping of prehistoric structures that tend to be small and difficult to identify from satellite data. As part of the larger Eastern Badia Archaeological Project, a large-scale aerial survey of Wadi al-Qattafi, Jordan was undertaken to map the large number of Neolithic and later structures that are present on the landscape but largely undocumented. Although analysis of the data is ongoing, this approach to landscape data collection is allowing us rapidly to record the landscape and document the myriad features, including large-scale hunting traps known as kites, that currently exist on the surface, but are in danger of disappearing due to anthropogenic and environmental pressures.
