| 英文摘要 | The purpose of this paper is to study three Dadanitic inscriptions from the area of al-U?ayb, north-west of the oasis of al-Ul. Two of these have been published previously, AH 111 and U 63, and one is as yet unpublished, U unp. 75. This hitherto unpublished inscription reveals new grammatical features not found before in any other Dadanitic text: the personal name {T}nfs(1)s(1) and the preposition n in the ablative sense. But the most common characteristic of these three texts in opposition to all other Dadanitic inscriptions is the occurrence of the word s(1)t. The formulaic sequences in which it occurs are quite striking: AH 111/3-4: s(1)t s(1)t ?mn; U 63/2-3: w s(1)t ?mn; and U unp. 75/1-2: w s(1)t-h s(1)t n?r?l. This word can be interpreted as a substantive meaning officer' on the one hand, and as a verb from the same root with the sense of to command' on the other, depending on its etymology and the grammatical context of the texts. It should be noted that its interpretation as officer' appears only in connection with the place name ?mn. |
