| 英文摘要 | In addition to Therese Desqueyroux itself, Francois Charles Mauriac repetitively tells about the exploits of the title heroine including her realization on evil, aspiration after love, and longing for Sacrament of Penance, in his four other short stories, one chapter of a longer work, and even his later Memoir and sketch notes. It seems that he is quite obssessed with the sin and punishment of the protagonist herself Mauriac, a laureate of the Nobel Prize in literature who prefers to identify himself as a catholic who writes, explores the profundity of sin and redemption desperately because he understands the isolation and anxiety of being survived in the chaotic era of Christianity crisis and spiritual desert. The heroine is designed at the prototype of the character to write as a disciple to confess, but how come she is neither longer able to reconcile with nor to believe in her faith in Therese Desqueyroux? Why does she suffer from the tornment of feeling guilty and tempted for the rest her life without resoltuion? How does Mauriac employ Therese Desqueyroux to proclaim the desolate tragedy of being survived? |
