英文简介PROJECT NARRATIVE The fungal pathogen Histoplasma capsulatum causes respiratory and systemic disease by invading and replicating within host cells. Within this host cell, Histoplasma capsulatum scavenges host molecules for its own proliferation during infection, yet these nutritional sources are unknown. This proposal will identify the host molecules consumed by Histoplasma capsulatum when it infects host cells, revealing new therapeutic targets to interfere with the pathogen?s ability to gain metabolic resources from the host.
