英文简介 | The proposed research aimed at understanding the physiology and genomic underpinnings of dehydration tolerance is directly relevant to public health, as humans suffer significant morbidity and mortality as a direct result of dehydration intolerance. Via the study of dehydration-tolerant desert rodents, new insights will be gained, providing fodder for novel strategies aimed at the treatments and prevention of conditions caused by, or associated with, dehydration. Because these dehydration-related conditions affect millions of people, finding effective strategies for their treatment and prevention is urgently needed. |
