英文简介Goals / Objectives 1. Test functionality and efficacy of different seed mixes in dryland rangeland restoration.2. Identify soil seed bank dynamics to better understand environmental filters limiting germination and establishment as well as their influence on seed mixes.3. Improve upon habitat modification techniques geared towards facilitating seed establishment and reducing soil loss.Project Methods Methods for this project include:1) Habitat modification efforts will be used to help facilitate effective seeding: An example of a habitat modification effort is using mesquite wood constructed connectivity modifiers (Okin et al. 2015 and further described in the included proposal).2) Seed bank extractions to identify what seeds are in the seed banks to better help identify what seeds may need to be actively introduced into the system to combat, or work with, seeds already present.3) Test different seed mixes to better understand what seed mixes work best in these drylands seeding efforts.
