英文摘要	Pelvic floor dysfunction also involves defecation disorders and sexual problems. To investigate the association between anorectal symptoms, rectocele and sexual function, we performed a secondary analysis of data obtained from 63 urogynecological patients and 24 healthy women recruited for the validation of the German pelvic floor questionnaire. A rectocele was present in 50% of urogynecological patients but only in 1 healthy woman. The larger the rectocele, the more obstructed defecation was described. Patients who strained excessively during defecation also more frequently assisted defecation by digitation. Bowel emptying problems were associated with the feeling of a lax vagina during sex. In conclusion this evaluation confirmed that excessive straining is associated with a rectocele, obstructed defecation and the feeling of a lax vagina during sexual intercourse.
