英文摘要	The Common Skink or Common Sandfish Scincus scincus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Scincidae : Squamata) is a lizard that has a particularly remarkable ability to move in the desert sands. It has been the subject of anatomo-functional studies in connection with its original locomotion, as well as recent studies on its nutritional value as a source of animal proteins. To date, no work has been published on biometrics or sexual dimorphism of this species. This study of the external morphometry of the animal is based on 100 adult individuals (50 males and 50 females) of the sub-species Scincus scincus scincus (Linnaeus, 1758) collected in the region of El Oued Souf (Algeria) and aims to characterize the sexual dimorphism of the species. In addition to the live weight of individuals, 11 linear parameters were measured per animal and 3 form indexes were calculated. For each variable, a threshold value is proposed to best discriminate between males and females. The most discriminating multivariate generalized linear model integrates CT (Chest circumference), T (Head length) and Lmp (Pelvic limb length). However, the T measurement, considered alone, discriminates with a low error rate.
