英文摘要Near the Grand Erg Occidental, the Gourara region, located on its southern edge, is particularly subject to the sand encroachment risk. A diachronic analysis via GoogleEarth, supplemented by field observations, provides information on the evolution of the main forms of wind accumulation as well as on the dynamics of sand encroachment within inhabited areas. This phenomenon, due to the desert nature of the region, is all the more worrying today as it is worsening due to anthropogenic factors. Vulnerability is significantly increased in the Erg's oasis, where the impact of sand encroachment is reflected by the reduction of agricultural areas, soil crusting, obstruction of foggaras lines and connecting roads, etc. On the other hand, in the plateau of Meguiden, it is the new extensions that show a deficit in the fight against sand encroachment. It must be noted that sand encroachment is very active in these sectors, which are, however, provided with a local protection system called dune-afreg. Through case studies, this research has identified new anthropogenic factors, in addition to those cited in the literature, which are responsible for the resurgence of sand encroachment in the various sectors studied. It explains how recent socio-economic transformations have led to the degradation of the secular links with tillage and, consequently, to the abandonment of local know-how, which in the past made it possible to anticipate and manage the risk of sand encroachment. Finally, this study sets out the conditions and challenges for a resilient oasis development against the increased sand encroachment in the region.
