英文简介Researches on the unique structure and function of the xylem are conducive to understand its adaptation mechanism to adverse conditions. Haloxylon ammodendron is the dominant species in Gurbantunggut desert vegetation, previous studies indicated the thickened wall structure exists in its xylem ray cells, but the cause is still unclear. Combining field investigation with simulation methods, the xylem ray tissue anatomical characteristics of H. ammodendron at xylem activity stage in different edaphic types are observed; the light intensity, air temperature, soil water and nitrogen treatment are simulated and dynamic characteristics of the anatomical structure, auxins content, histochemistry and proteome are observed to understand the differentiation and development process of xylem ray tissue of the plant, illustrate the relationship between wall thickness of wood ray cell and ray height, width, as well as cell area, and analyze the influence of wood ray cell wall thickness on storage and radial translocation. We expect to discover the new protein related to thick wall structure of H. ammodendron xylem rays, and then explore the formation mechanism of thick-walled structure of rays based on the methods of molecular biology, histochemistry and physiology. The results of this experiment will not only provide theoretical data and case analysis of internal mechanism and the way the desert plant adapt to the stress environment, but also provide a scientific significance on revealling formation of wood quality.
