英文简介Preferential flow, characterized by a fast infiltration rate of bypassing the soil matrix, is a universal phenomenon. It is of importance for both plant growth and groundwater recharge especially in desert regions. Shrub roots is considered to be a main cause for preferential flow, the influencing mechanism, however, has not yet been well studied. In this project, Haloxylon Ammodendron is taken as an object, and three ages of them are selected. For each of them, three different experiments are conducted in the area with and without roots: 1) quantitatively analyzing the influence of shrub roots on preferential flow in the combination of in-situ dye tracing test and some tests on root indexes and basic physical parameters; 2) analyzing the influences of shrub roots on initiations and characteristics of preferential flow by soil column tests; 3) discussing the feedbacks between shrub root growth and the occurrence of preferential flow using TDR and minirhzotron techniques. The results will be helpful not only for revealing the influencing mechanism of shrub roots on preferential flow in desert regions, but also for vegetation restoring and using groundwater resources scientifically.
