英文简介Nutrient and water availability are the most important factors that limit plant growth and ecosystem processes in semi-arid and arid areas. The adaptive strategies of resources absorption and utilization of plants under different habitats are always attracted considerable attention of scientists. This research is conducted based on the long-term ecological experimental site in Cele National Station of Observation & Research for Desert Grassland Ecosystem in Xinjiang, China by outdoor simulation experiments and field experiments. The aim of the experiments was to investigate the changes of soil mineralization, inorganic nitrogen content in groundwater, stoichiometry of soil and plant, nutrient utilization efficiency, nutrient resorption efficiency, nutrient contents in leaves litter, and leaf longevity under different groundwater treatments. The meteorological factors are also recorded by the meteorological station of Cele National Station. We will reveal the impact factors of nutrient utilization efficiency and nutrient resorption efficiency of Alhagi sparsifolia under different groundwater depths at the southern fringe of the Taklamakan Desert. Our research will predict the growth changes of Alhagi sparsifolia in the future and these experiments are crucial importance for plant nutrient utilization, nutrient recycling, and the adaptive strategies of resources utilization of plants under few natural resources habitat. In addition, the process of plant nutrient utilization and circulation under different groundwater habitat will be analysed. We will provide theoretical basis for local vegetation protection and artificial vegetation restoration in the desert-oasis ecotone of the southern fringe of the Taklamakan Desert, Xinjiang.
