英文简介Thermo-physical properties of soils are good indicators for soil moisture migration and heat transfer in cold regions, which are keys to study the land surface processes and eco-environmental changes in northern countries and highlands. Previous studies indicate that soil organic matter have significant influences on the thermo-physical properties of permafrost soils (cryosols). However, how and to what extent the organic matter impact the thermo-physical properties of cryosols have remained unknown due to the lack of systematic research. Therefore, the proposed project aims at studying the temperature and moisture dependent thermo-physical properties of organic soils (or cryosols) in the Da Xing'anling Mountains in Northeast China, and the mechanisms that the organic matter influence these properties using both macroscale parameters and microscopic structures of organic soils. In this study, the undisturbed soil samples collected from the field will be studied by laboratory measurements for organic contents, and thermal-physical properties, microstructure and pore characteristics. Then, thermal and physical properties of cryosols with varied organic matter and contents will be systematically analyzed and statistically correlated. Microstructures and macro-properties of organic matter in the undisturbed soil samples will be qualitatively and quantitatively studied by scanning electron microscope images and processing software. The roles of organic matter in affecting the soil properties will be studied at microscopic and macroscopic scales. At last, based on the ratio of organ matter to mineral and combining with the previous studies, a new conceptual model will be proposed to calculate the thermal conductivity of organic cryosols under various soil temperature and moisture conditions. This study will provide the theoretical bases for studying the cold regions land surface processes and parameterization in frozen ground engineering, and facilitate the studies of responsive mechanisms for eco-environmental changes to climate warming.
