英文简介 | Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) plays a critical role in soil carbon cycle in terrestrial ecosystems. DOC can bind with hydrophobic organic contaminants, and the chemical behaviors between them are complicated. Moreover, previous studies have overlooked the effects of organic contaminants on soil organic carbon cycle. Furthermore, under different conditions of soil moisture due to canopy interception of rainfall by various vegetable types, the mechanisms of organic contaminants on the transportation and transformation of soil DOC are still not clear. In this proposal, based on the ecological and environmental issues caused by organic contaminants, we will investigate how organic contaminants from sewage sludge impacts soil DOC cycle in Mongolian pine plantation, sparse woodland and grassland at semi-arid Horqin sandy lands. We will measure concentrations, fractions, the δ13C and biodegradation of DOC. Furthermore, distribution behaviors of the organic contaminants to DOC fractions, and microbial community structure will be also determined. We attempt to explain the mechanisms of soil DOC distributions as affected by organic contaminants, clarify transportation manners of DOC in the organic polluted soil, and specify the role of organic contaminants on soil organic carbon cycle in different sandy land ecosystems. The results from this project will provide new insights for forecasting soil organic carbon changes during sewage sludge application to sandy land for soil amendments. |
