英文简介Based on Milankovitch theory and paleoclimate research, Marine isotope stage 11 (MIS11) has been considered to be the best analog to Holocene because of the simliar orbital parameters and green-house concentration. And the study of MIS11 can help us understand the current climate change under the ground of global warming as well as predict the trend of climate change in the future. However, comparing to researches that have been done on marine sediment, ice core record and other sediment, the study on S4 (equivalent to MIS11) is still quite small and controversial. Consequently, the research area is located on northwestern Chinese Loess Plateau which is the Convergence zone of three geographic units (Arid Region of Northwest, Qinghai-Tibet alpine zone and Southeast Monsoon Region). The area, lies in the edge of East Asian monsoon system, has many characteristics which is helpful for research, such as sensitive climate, fast sedimentation rate, large thickness and high information content. By analyzing Jingyuan, Jiuzhoutai and Huning’s loess section, we wish to resolve the duraion of MIS11,the process of climate change,the characteristic of MIS11 as well as the climate whether is warmer or colder than the Holocene. Besides, the conclusion aslo provide new materials and evidence to understand change of Holocence climate, simulate the climate change trends in the future and make a distinction between man-made and nature climate change on the background of global warming.
