英文简介Arid and semi-arid China is the most sensitive regions to the variation of the East Asian summern monsoon. The variation of East Asian summer monsoon is consistent with the drought change in the northern China. With the development of palaeoclimate data from climatically sensitive regions, especially from the East Asian summern monsoon area, systematic monsoon researches have been well developed for the historical periods climate change. In this study, we propose to reconstruction regional precipitation change for the northern fringe of the East Asian summern monsoon area based on existing tree-ring chronology and historical documents over the past 530 year (1470-2000 year). To map spatial characteristics of advance and retreat of the northern fringe of the East Asian summern monsoon area during the extreme drought and floods events, the Kriging interpolation methods was employed. Throughout this study, we attempt to confirm the northernmost boundary of the East Asian summer monsoon. We will reveal the possible driving mechanisms of the East Asian summer monsoon march at interdecadal to decadal timescales. The research will provide new scientific basis for forecasting the future climate change.
