英文简介 | The Short Chain Branching (SCB) of Novel Bimodal Polyethylene was highly distributed on the longest polymer chain so as to solve the counter effect of the mechanical strength and the processability of the material. Due to the excellent environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR), the material had been applied in many important projects around the world. However, the introduction of SCB also produced tertiary carbon which has hydrogen atom that can easily undergo hydrogen abstraction with free radicals and lowering the photo/thermal stability of the material. This project will focus on material structure such as distributions of molecular weight and its branchings, tie-molecule density,lamellae thickness and spherulite size etc. By combining with factors of temperature, radiation strength and oxygen concentration during photo/thermal oxidation, the reaction dynamics and mechanisms of ESCR were analyzed. Based on Tie-molecule formation and strength formation theory, computer model of material deterioration will be built upon these results. Threshold value of photo/thermal oxidation level that can be used to evaluate the extent material deterioration will be determined. |
