英文简介 | The Gobi and desert are widely distributed in western China which generate large amount of sand and dust under strong westerly circulations and wind erosions, and this is an important source of influencing public environmental quality. Currently, the study of sand and dust storm as well as its environmental effect was mainly made in the eastern Chinese developed region, but dust effect on oasis cities in northwestern China is still inadequate. Therefore, in this study we selected Xinjiang oasis cities to analyse the impact by sand and dust storm as following three contents: 1) use the dataset (1950-) of dust storm frequency to analyse historical background and characteristics of dust storm; 2) analyse the mineral components, particle size and morphology through fields work on dust collection, compare the difference of airborne dust in different months and seasons; 3) compare the particle concentration change of oasis cities in periods of dust storm and non-dust storm with environmental monitoring data such as TSP and PM10, simulate particle concentration with modified dust model WRF-Chem and compare it with monitoring records. Then, we probe the spatial change of characteristics and distribution on dust particle, and try to discover the impact of dust storm on Xinjiang oasis cities. This practical work would significantly push forward the atmospheric environment and aeolian research in Xinjiang region. |
