英文简介Spectral absorption properties of atmospheric aerosols play a crucial role in their radiative forcing. However, limited understanding of aerosol absorption properties is one of the important factors inducing the large uncertainty in evaluation aerosol effect on climate. This project is intent to improve aerosol absorbing measurements by the use of a heated inlet. By means of synchronous measuring aerosol absorption coefficients with and without the heated inlet, as well as mixing status, size distribution and chemical components using multiple instruments, absorption characteristics of aerosols at a semi-arid site (Tongyu observation station, 44.56 N, 122.92oE) will be studied systematic. The main propose of this research is to investigate the absorption characteristics of different type aerosols, such as black carbon, dust, and organic carbon, and their effect to absorption wavelength dependence. The impact of mixing state on absorption spectral dependence will also be discussed. Results derived from this project will enhance the knowledge of aerosol absorption properties and their spectral dependence in semi-arid area.
