| 英文简介 | Carbon sequestration and water conservation are main services of forest ecosystem, but they are inherently contradictory, especially in the arid and semi-arid regions. Water consumption of afforestation in the Loess Plateau led to soil desiccation, runoff reduction and ecosystem degradation. Afforestation activities there has provoked great controversy. Balancing water consumption and carbon sequestration is the heart of the problem. Therefore, qauntifying the trade-offs between water and carbon and researching into the mechanisms are becoming hotspot. Studied plots are located in Yangjuangou watershed, typical afforestation watershed in the Loess Plateau.Robinia pseudoacacia, most planted species in the Loess Pleteau, is chosen as target species. By field investigation, experimental observations and model calculation, this study plans to discuss the trade-offs between water and carbon. Sample plots with different restoration year will be chosen. Water carbon exchange and trade-offs will be studied in leaves, individual tree and population scale. Water carbon exchange and trade-offs law with restoration period will be revealed. Key environmental (soil, climatic ones and etc.) and inner (Physiological, ecological, structural and etc.) factors affecting the trade-offs will be observed and analyzed at the same time.Eventually we will disclose the externally environmental and internally physiological mechanism. This study has theoretical and pratical meanings for the coming restoration in the arid and semi-arid regions. |
