英文简介 | Biological soil crusts (BSCs) have important ecological functions, such as avoiding soil erosion and fertilizing soil, and these functions will be gradually improved with succession. Symbiosis is one of the important factors that accelerate BSCs succession. Free-living filamentous Scytonema javanitum not only colonizes the early stage as the pioneer species, but also dominates the later stage as the photoboint of lichens. Two different living forms, free-living and symbiotic S. javanicum, will be studied in this project. Under the indoor simulated conditions, the effects of desert stresses on photosynthetic system structures and their activities, the efficiency of antioxidant system and the accumulation of secondary metabolites will be well studied, using multiple technologies, such as in vivo chlorophyll fluorescence, 77K low temperature detection and HPLC technology, aiming at comparing the abilities in resisting desiccation, high visible radiance and UV radiance between free-living and symbiotic S. javanicum. These results will not only reveal the effect mechanism of symbiosis on the adaption ability of S. javanicum to desert stresses, uncoving the successional mechanism of BSCs from the perspective of cyanobacterial environment adaption, but also provide important theory foundation for the usage of BSCs in desertification control. |
