英文简介 | WBC family members of ABC transporters are required for plant cuticular lipids extracellular secretion. WBC11, WBC12 and WBC13 are involved in cuticular lipids metabolism in Arabidopsis. Saltwater cress (Thellungiella salsuginea), a close relative of Arabidopsis, with exceptionally high innate tolerance to stresses including drought has obviously different cuticle. How are WBC family members involved in cuticular lipids metabolism and drought stress response? It is deserve to study. Here we focus on comparative analysis on WBC family from saltwater cress and Arabidopsis. Saltwater cress WBC members were searched from genome wide and their structure, evolution, expresssion and function were analysed by bioinformative methods. One of key WBC members, EhWBC11 will be researched maily on the types of lipids it can translocate and its function in response to drought stress. We plan to overexpress sense EhWBC11 in wild and mutant Arabidopsis, and inhibit EhWBC11 expression in saltwater cress through RNAi technique. To eluciate the types of dimers that EhWBC11 is involved to form, cDNA library is constructed and screened by EhWBC11 bait. This project aim to eluciate the molecular mechanism of WBC family in cuticular lipids metabolism and drought stress response, and thus will offer important proofs to extreme tolerance of saltwater cress to environmental stresses. |
