英文简介Soil hydraulic and thermal parameters are very important inputs for land surface modeling, data assimilation, and land surface parameter retrieval, their uncertainty is one of the major sources of errors. The common survey of soil parameters cannot satisfy grid-scale land surface modeling. Also, it is very difficult to derive soil hydraulic and thermal parameters directly from satellite remote sensing. This proposal aims to estimate grid-scale soil hydraulic and thermal parameters for Tibetan Plateau (TP) by assimilating passive microwave brightness temperature and diurnal change of MODIS land surface temperature (LST),respectively, within data assimilation system. To achieve this goal, we are going to study on (1) revising model operator of the data assimilation system by integrating the soil parameterization schemes which consider the soil organic carbon's impact on soil hydrological processes, (2) assimilating passive microwave brightness temperature to estimate grid-scale soil hydraulic parameters for TP, (3) assimilating diurnal change of MODIS LST to estimate soil thermal parameters for TP, (4) evaluating the estimated parameters and their performance in land surface modeling. Compared with the traditional land surface model calibration based on station observation, this proposal aims to develop the model calibration method based on satellite observation and to explore the effective way to improve the regional performance of land surface model.
