英文简介Supported by RS, GPS and GIS technology, using the peripheral region around Qinghai Lake in Qinghai province as the research object, and according to the meteorological observation data as well as TM images (1987~2012), the space-time change of climate and desertification are analyzed by the methods of wavelet analysis, empirical orthogonal function and linear regression analysis, respectively. The objectives of this research are to 1) extract the dominating climate factor of desertification, 2) find out the connection between desertification and quasi-periodic climate variation and 3) study the dynamic response mechanism of land desertification to climate change and its variation trend to propose some countermeasures to prevent land desertification and climate change. Meanwhile, the desertification is an illustration of global climate change, thus to consider the effect of regional climate change on local desertification in the future, this work will provide a scientific decision-making base for desertification control and ecological protection in the region around Qinghai Lake.
