英文简介Cricetidae is an extremely diverse family of muroid rodents. This is one of the largest families of mammals, with over 600 species, occupying a broad spectrum of habitats. Their range encompasses dry, wet, warm and cold climates, span a range of elevations from sea level to over 5000 meters above sea level. Cricetidae is a monophyletic group with a long evolutionary history of over 40 myr, performing prominent habitat heterogeneity and morphological diversity. It is an optimal object of studying the changes of geographic distribution, speciation events, and morphological evolution in the context of historically climatic change and geologic events. Different groups in Cricetidae may have different response to the environmental change in their evolutionary history.In the project, we aimed to 1) reconstruct the ancestral line on the basis of fossil records and provide a genetically based systematic framework for extant hamster (Cricetinae),which is the oldest family originated in China. The changes of geographic distribution, trends of morphological evolution and phylogeography of this family may reveal how the environmental change from Eocene had shaped the extant distribution of the family and their evolutionary history.2) compare the phylogeographic structure of 3 representative genus that diversified between Pliocene and Pleistocene: Phaiomys(endemic to the Qinghai-tibet Plaetau); Eothenomys(mainly occurs in Hengduan mountain) and Phodopus (highly adapted to semi-desert or desert) to trace back their response to the environmental change in Quaternary.
