英文简介The further economic and social development for Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, is an urgent need to solve the land of drought and salinization which resulted in land desertification and other major issues. According to the grim reality that the extreme environmental tolerance plant gene resources development, utilization and the efficiency is insufficient, and the serious loss of the characteristics of plant resources in Xinjiang, in this project, we’ll use the salt and alkali-tolerant plant Olimarabidopsis pumila as research material, to sequence on a large scale cDNA clone randomly-selected from the full-length and normalized cDNA library constructed before. Large scales of expressed sequence tags (ESTs) were constructed. Combining to analysis of gene expression under salt stress, we’ll establish technique system of salt and alkali tolerant gene isolation and identification, to identify function new genes of salt and alkali tolerant, to analyze gene function through transgenic research, to study their ecological adaption mechanism in the Xinjiang extreme high saline environment plants. This project will provide gene components and basic theory for the future by means of genetic engineering to improve the resistance of plant, to cultivate salinity crop varieties, and play a significant role in modern agriculture improvement in Corps.
