英文简介 | Cotton plays a very important role in the economic affairs in the world. The expansion of cotton cultivated area in northwest area will be performed to ensure its cultivated area, particularly with cotton and grain competing for cultivated area. Here we will study the water efficient utilization of cotton, mine genes and validate these genes in cotton, in order to get new drought-resistant transgenic plants. Drought stress-responsive regulation preliminary network and drought response genes candidate pool will be structured based on sequencing data for A-genome diploid cotton and cotton water stress transcriptome dynamics data. From candidate genes, we will focus on the function and regulation network of MYB and JAZ transcription factors by VIGS in cotton and over-expression in model plant. The key ones will be isolated and the cloning for stress inducible promoter will be carried out; we will study the mechanism of plant hormone brassinosteroid (BRs) regulation of root growth and plant type formation by study the effects of mutant gene pgd1 on root development and drought-resistant ability using pgd1 mutant. All genes we get from this project together with exogenous genes get from through technical cooperation, will be transformed into tetraploid cotton. Throughout the study on water use efficiency and physiological analysis on transgenic cotton lines, a number of materials with high-efficiency water utilization will be contributed to molecular breeding. |
