英文简介 | Salinity in arid zones is one of the major abiotic factors limiting agricultural and forestry productivity. Ningxia Lycium barbarum L., is one of the valuable plants for improving salt-alkali soil with unique mechanism to adapt salt stress. In this proposal, the sodium absorption and accumulation, as well as the cellular and subcellular distribution of sodium in Ningxia Lycium barbarum L.under NaCl stress, will be investigated, using techniques of 22Na+ chasing, non-invasive micro-test and confocal scanning laser microscopy. The pathways of sodium absorption will also be identified by utilizing various channel inhibitors. The copperative effects of driving forces of PM H+-ATPase, PM Na+/H+antiporter (SOS1), vacuolar H+-ATPase and/or Na+/H+antiporter (NHX1) on the cytoplasmic sodium efflux will be ascertained by determining the transcriptional expression of these genes. We anticipate that this work will provide fundamental information for understanding the mechanisms of sodium absorption and accumulation, and the copperative effects of driving forces of the salt tolerant Ningxia Lycium barbarum L.. This study will also help us to determine the phenotype of salt tolerance for this plant. An accomplishment of this study will provide important information for improving salt-alkali soil by planting salt-tolerant plants, as well as promoting the development of special industry in Western China. |
