英文简介Alpine steppes are the transitional type from alpine meadow to alpine desert in three river source region, and mainly distribute in the Hoh Xil,QUMALA county and MADUO county. Area of Alpine steppe are more than 5.82 million hm2 in Qinghai province. Alpine steppes gravely degenerate to the extent that bare land and desertified land in some area.All the degraded land take 90% of the total area. Lack of appropriate grass varieties for degenerated alpine steppes became the bottleneck of restoring the alpine degradation vegetation. Kengyilia thoroldiana is a perennial native plant , which can well adapt to bitterly cold, extremely drought, oxygen deprivation habitat in the three river source region. It has the characteristics of developed root system, early regreening, more tillers, strong resistance and extremely outstanding ability for soil conservation. K. thoroldiana was domesticated many years by us,and it will become the most suitable domesticated varieties to restore the degraded alpine steppes soon. But Both of fruiting rate and seed yield of K. thoroldiana are low,we cann't produce enough seeds in the short term to meet demand of restoring the alpine degradation vegetation. In the project,we will observe the spike differentiation process and analysis the relationship between spike differentiation and air temperature,soil temperature, fertilizer,and altitude; Study the blooming behavior, dynamic of blossom and fertility characteristics; Analyze the influential factors of fertile tiller; Research the distribution of nutrition, energy, biomass in order to provide fundamental basis for seed production of Kengyilia thoroldiana.
