| 英文简介 | Cemetery, directed by artist, Carlos Casas is an immersive film and audio visual installation inspired on the elephant cemetery myth. It explores sensory and audiovisual perception, questioning and pushing the boundaries of cinematic experience. Drawing inspiration from elephant communication,it will present new ways of using sound as sensory bond with the spectator. Through the collaboration between sound recording artist Chris Watson, sound engineeer Tony Myatt, bio-acoustician and elephant c ommunication expert Dr. Joyce Poole, and a conversation with psychologist and specialist in infra-sound perception Richard Wiseman, the project will focus on revolutionary infrasonic recordings of elephants and will present in new ways the amazingly rich and still unknow sonic world of elephants and its interactions with man. The film is composed by three interconnected parts; a first part that features a more visual and narrative part with of our main character and his elephant filmed on loc ation in Sri Lanka. The second part of the film that describes the arrival to the cemetery will be more abstract and experimental and will feature an intricate soundtrack of infrasound and recordings from all over the world. A third part, will act as the project's epilogue and will feature images from different desert locations around the world where its sound will be predominantly seismic and based on atmospheric data. Our research challenge starts from bio-acoustics and ends in infra-sound healing and communication research, focusing on the somatic use of sound and its therapeutic possible use in the arts. |
