英文摘要	The geomorphology, fluvial mesh and natural vegetation of a region are clearly connected through integrated and dynamic relationships. In regions of sedimentary basin in the northeastern semi-arid, these relations are visible through their natural landscapes. The present study aims to describe geomorphological and hydroclimatic aspects of the Ribeira do Pombal microregion in order to evaluate the influence on its environmental conservation status. The micro-region has an average altitude of 271m (+/- 114.45m), the municipality of Antas with the highest altitude (435m) and Itapicuru with the minimum (128m) and average annual temperature of 23.7 degrees C and thermal amplitude of 4,4 degrees C (maximum of 25.5 degrees C and minimum of 21.1 degrees C). More than 90% of the territory corresponds to the sedimentary geomorphology with formations predominantly of Tabuleiros and Chapadas. The microregion extends through the Itapicuru River Basins in approximately 60% of the area, the Rio Real (+/- 25%) and the Vaza Barris River (+/- 15%), bathed by a fluvial network of temporary and intermittent rivers. The edaimically deep and quartz structure, associated with low precipitation, high temperatures and intense environmental impacts, favors processes of environmental deterioration in the microregion. Public policies in the micro-region are suggested through rural extension and environmental education in order to prevent likely degradation processes.
