英文摘要	This paper presents a collection of some of the available published information on geological and geotechnical characteristics of some Middle Eastern countries within the Arabian Peninsula. For each of the countries considered, a brief summary is given of the geological history, typical geotechnical profiles and typical geotechnical parameters, and if available, information on foundation design parameters. Such information may be helpful for preliminary design purposes, prior to a more detailed program of ground investigation being undertaken.
