英文摘要	In general, tourism has taken place among the essential economic activities of countries, especially in developing ones, it is on the top of the activity list mentioned above. Even though the first illustration that's shaped on the mind includes the trio of sea-sand-sun when it comes to tourism, this economic activity has substantially progressed and got diversified owing to several facts such as increments of the accumulation of knowledge in the light of technological improvements, developments in the welfare state, the great excess of spare time and so on, especially in the past few years. The idea which indicates that a location without a shore could not be developed in terms of tourism, is given up and thanks to the changes in expectation and perceptions of tourism, lots of destinations just like deserts, polar regions, ancient places and folkloric elements have become valuable topics for tourism. This study focuses on the great touristic potential and things that has to be done about the current state in Hakkari-whose geographical location states an obstacle for the city's improvement- a town that is far from most of the centers in Turkiye. In spite of Hakkari's quite high potential in terms of nature tourism due to geographical conditions, it is an obvious fact that the same positive facilities are not available for cultural tourism. However, the shootouts that has been going on in the city for years, that the town is on the national border line of the country, and the enormous lack of infrastructure form the greatest obstacle for the recovery in the field tourism. Furthermore, Hakkari has such an important geographical location that it could be the local center for some specific touristic activities provided that the deficiencies of touristic infrastructure are healed and a wide scoped-tourism planning is done.
