英文摘要	This essay examines Roberto Ark's first texts from Morocco, the Aguafuertes marroqufes, by comparing them to the 1930ies films The Mistress of Atlantis and Morocco. By taking issue with the general "orientalist" lecture of Arles text, I will show how the filmic plots and themes are intertwined. Thus, a more complex understanding beyond the mere dichotomy of "Orient" and "Occident" is needed. I argue that we can sense in these first texts Ark's interest in processes of the world that go beyond a particular nation or culture and situate his work, from the world's peripheral position that Argentina is, in a cosmopolitan realm.
