| 英文摘要 | This article presents the historical development of the indigenous society in the South American frontiers of the Cono Sur, taking as an axis the figure of the linguistic mediators (lenguaraces and secretaries) between the indigenous people and the Hispanic-Creole. This development can be seen throughout a trajectory that goes from the first institutionalized mediations in Chile, at the beginning of the colonial epoch, to the the pedagogic efforts in the indigenous communities of the Argentine Pampa to form their own mediators before the so-called "Conquest of the desert." The explanatory key to this development is to be found in the contact and the exchange of knowledge which can be traced along two adjustments in the indigenous society. The first adjustment is the social one, implicit in the professionalization of the role of the mediators beyond their diplomatic functions. The second adjustment is the geographical one, which joins both sides of the mountains chain of the Andes. The Notebook of Calculations and Calligraphy of the Archive Estanislao Zeballos is a brief document, but of great historical and cultural value, since it offers us a key to understand this development truncated by the ethnocide. |
