英文摘要	Grassland desertification in arid and semiarid ecosystems from the northern area of Mexico is the result of centuries of overgrazing and overexploitation of natural resources, that reduced vegetation coverage and erosion caused by wind and water; soil compaction and invasion of exotic grasses and shrub species. The most commonly used tools for grassland restoration are prescribed burns, chemical treatments to control bush encroachment and the aerator roller. The aerator roller decompresses the ground, allowing gas exchange, water infiltration and seeds, besides of crushing the bushes. The evaluation of the effects from the usage of roller and planting native grasses in Cuenca Los Ojos A.C., in the municipality of Agua Prieta, Sonora, was performed by measuring the vegetative coverage of treated and untreated sites through Canfield lines. The sampling was conducted between March and May 2015. Results show that annual grasses and herbs in aerated and seeded areas were established successfully. Aeration reduced the vegetation coverage of bushes, than in untreated areas, mainly composed of plant communities.
